We've learned math for more than ten years long. Above question, everyone may think about. Now it's the time to answer what mathematics can do!
Coordinate translating, rotating, were familiar in lecture of senior high, was applied in first case. Though, we just called translate(), rotate() method. But in the black box, it did those operation.
The second case - Easing Motion - did acceleration simulation. It's a case could understand easily. If we master in math and physics, we will have a chance to perform particle motion simulation as like as smoke simulation, it's so fancy, in Processing office site created by those expert.
